RSIPF Crime Prevention Strategy to be presented at regional meeting

Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police will be briefed on the RSIPF’s Crime Prevention Strategy during their 46th Conference which will be held in Guam 28 – 31 August 2017.

Commissioner, Matthew Varley and Deputy Commissioner, Operations, Gabriel Manelusi will represent the RSIPF at the meeting.

“This year’s conference with the theme of “Pacific Islands Together” is an opportunity for police chiefs around the region to come together and share ideas and programs we are working on and best practice,” says Commissioner Varley

“Deputy Commissioner Manelusi will present on the RSIPF’s Crime Prevention Strategy at the Conference as this strategy is a unique one in the region. We will also brief the conference on other developments after the departure of RAMSI at the end of June,” explains Commissioner Varley.

Other issues to be discussed at the conference will include Community Policing, Pacific Transnational Crime Network and Police Training.

In the absence of the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, National Security and Operational Support, Juanita Matanga will be Acting Commissioner of Police.
