RSIPF officers in Kirakira, Makira-Ulawa Province are investigating a traffic accident on the Nakini main road, West Bauro on 24 November 2017.
Six people were travelling on board the hilux vehicle when the accident happened. One of the people was injured but is in a stable condition.
Provincial Police Commander, Makira-Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai appeals to the people in the Province, “That if you plan to drink alcohol don’t drive and if you drive don’t drink but let someone drive you safely home.”
“I urge people who witnessed the traffic accident to come forward with information that might assist the police with its investigations," says Superintendent Sitai.
Police at Kirakira are mounting an operation to stop drink driving during the upcoming festive season.
