Police traffic made quickest arrest

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Traffic officers had one of their quickest traffic arrests this morning, following a motor accident in front of the Rove Police Headquarters. Within minutes of the incident, officers were visible everywhere on the scene.Police alleged the suspect was driving under the influence of liquor as he felt asleep and ditched his vehicle into the Rove stream with minor injuries, as he was still half way through his dreams during the collision.The male suspect was immediately attended to and transported to hospital with police assistance, as the matter was investigated.“Police strongly urge public motor vehicle drivers to take all precautions needed, for the safety of pedestrians, public property and personal safety.”“There are too many accidents occurring as a result of careless driving and alcohol related incidents, with seven (7) traffic related fatalities to date in 2015.Members of the public are urged to contact police on 23666 (police response) or 999 (emergencies only) if they require assistance.
