The City Response Unit (CRU) in Honiara Police Station and Provincial Response Unit (PRU) under Guadalcanal Police of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are the latest group that benefited from a Public Order Management (POM) training which conducted by instructor from the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is now equipped with a software tool to match fingerprints in crime scenes to an arrest suspect.

The Forensic Comparison Software (FCS) Electronic Fingerprint Comparator was funded and gifted by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Pacific Police Development Program-Regional (PPDP-R) to the RSIPF’s Forensic Services within the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID).

Thirteen (13) officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) from Provincial Police Stations have received their Forensic certificate of attainment after a week training in Honiara this afternoon (17 June 2022).

Commissioner of RSIPF Mr Mostyn Mangau said I hope that the knowledge and skills you have acquired through these past five days will be beneficial throughout your career and will enhance the RSIPF efficiency and competency in dealing with drug related matters.

A total of 24 officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have been promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and Inspector this morning (17 June 2022).

Nineteen officers were promoted from Senior Sergeant Rank to Inspector Rank while five officers were promoted from Sergeant to Senior Sergeant Positions.

Commissioner of RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau said these promotions are important to ensure we have a strong and capable leadership team in the RSIPF. The responsibility is on us to take up full responsibility for policing and security in Solomon Islands.

Forensic officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) stationed in the provinces are attending forensic training in Honiara this week. The ‘ForDrug Phase One’ training opened at the Rove Police Headquarters on Monday 13 June and will conclude this Friday.

Thirteen (13) officers from Provincial Police Stations, excluding Guadalcanal and Honiara, are part of this training.

Officers of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) are helping the KG VII community to build their church.

RPNGC to Solomon Island, Contingent Commander, Chief Inspector Jackson Ambo said this request for assistance came through the Program Coordinator Ms June Kuma and we took it on board as part of our community Engagement Program. We want to do this by assisting communities during our mission in the Solomon Islands.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting security and traffic operations for the two high level visiting delegations from Australia and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 17 June 2022.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations, Ms Juanita Matanga said as we all know that the Australian Foreign Affairs Minister and the Minister of Tourism for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be here in the country for a day visit. It is good for us to respect and show courtesy to our visiting delegations.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at White River Police Station have confiscated a large amount of kwaso (homebrew) during a raid at Tasahe area recently.

Shift In-Charge, Bravo Team, White River Police Station, Sergeant (Sgt) Harry Fititei said the estimated street value of those confiscated homebrew was roughly about $35,000.00 plus if sold.

Sergeant Fititei said the two suspects in relation to the matter were arrested while investigation in the matter is still continuing.

Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Leslie Kili witnessed the launching of a by-law for Hatodea communities at Manaoba island in the Lau lagoon on 8 June 2022.

Speaking during the launching ceremony PPC Kili says, “I on behalf of RSIPF happy to witness the launching of your community by-law since it is a milestone in Manaoba Island as first of its engagement with the RSIPF in maintaining partnership with the Police in curbing crimes occurring in the village and surrounding communities.”

As part of the preparation for border reopening on 1 July 2022, the officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has gone through a brief training conducted by Solomon Island Immigration and Australian Border Force (ABF) at Kulitanai Police Station in the western border between Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Solomon Islands (SI) recently.
