Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) base at the common border between Solomon Islands (SI) and Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the Shortland Islands were rescued by HAMS Ararat, an Australian Navy after they went missing on 20 May 2022.

The RSIPF officers with some civilians went missing after they left Gizo for some administration run. On their way back to Kulitanai Police Station they had some problem which is currently under investigation to determine what is the cause of the problem.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at Henderson Police Station have arrested and charged a male person in his 30’s for the alleged murder of another male person at Peochakuri village in South Guadalcanal on 6 May 2022.

It is alleged that the accused and the deceased had an argument prior to the incident. The accused allegedly struck a hammer on the victim’s head and continue to punch the victim whilst the victim is on the ground. The victim sustained serious injuries.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team have conducted an unexploded ordnance (UXO) operation in the Western Province from 17 May and will end on 4 June 2022.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of the RSIPF EOD team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The tasks will be carried out in Seghe area and surrounding communities.

Inspector Tunuki says, “Essentially, this operation is in support to the initial sub surface UXO clearance of the Seghe Airport.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tetere and Henderson Police Station are investigating a murder incident that has happened at Bulokalai village in Aola area, East Central Guadalcanal on 10 May 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Edwin Sevoa said suspects have been identified in relation to the murder incident and police officer working close with community leaders for their arrest.
