The Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operations Support (NSOS) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Ian Vaevaso has refuted the media reporting on Solomon Star front page yesterday (5 May 2022) has misleading and has no truth.

There is no plan by RSIPF Officers to conduct sit-in protest nor a full-blown strike as a result of the delay of payment for the COVID 19 Allowance to RSIPF officers.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Royal Papua New Guinea Police Constabulary (RPNGC) have raided a homebrew (kwaso) and marijuana hub at Karaina settlement.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Police, Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The raid happened on 5 May 2022, at about 4 and 5pm with the assistance from the RPNGC.

PPC Robo says, “White River Police officers and RPNGC make the snap operation for illegal kwaso and marijuana activities at the Karaina settlement, White River area in West of Honiara.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station and the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) assisted the community at Ruavatu in search for a missing 13-year-old boy who went missing on 28 April 2022.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Edwin Sevoa says, “An initial report stated that the 13-year-old boy and his three younger brothers went for a swim at Ruavatu river mouth.

Central Police Operations Support Team of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) with the assistance of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) uniform patrols conducted an anti-gambling operation shutting-down Illegal Street gambling in areas of White River to Town Ground and Mission Place (Point Cruz) on 29 April 2022.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the common border between Solomon Islands (SI) and Papua New Guinea (PNG) will be boosted after a handing over of new police infrastructures this morning (29 April 2022).

The handing over ceremony happened between the contractors, the Ministry of Police National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) and the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) via zoom.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and The Australian Federal Police (AFP) continue to conduct joint patrols in West Honiara.

Recently RSIPF officers manning the White River Police Station joined AFP officers to patrol their communities under White Police Station.

Officers involved in the joint patrol took to the main street of White River by foot to do monitoring for any potential public disorder issues and to engage with the community.

The joint patrol maintains high visibility policing fulfilling the RSIPF’s proactive on crime prevention measures.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Honiara City Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old male person for obstructing police while on duty at the Mendana Avenue on 8 April 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The accused was arrested after he obstructed police officers. When he was approached at the Solomon Motor area after being pulled over in a vehicle by Honiara City Police.”

Police constable (PC) Edward Suqaqari of Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) of the Police Maritime Division travelled to Australia today (27 April 2022) to attend a bridge watch keeper officers refresher training.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operation, Evelyn Thugea said this is a five week course conducted at in Australia under Technical and Further Education (TAFE) in Cairns to refresh qualified personal in the skills and Knowledge required to act as a bridge watch keeper on the Guardian Class Patrol Boats (GCPB).

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Seghe and Gizo in the Western Province are investigating a suspicious death of a 21-year-old female person whose body was found at Ambu Village in West Marovo Lagoon on 25 April 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “Police at Seghe received a report from a villager at Ambu village that a human head was found lying near a garden close to their village.”
