Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Honourable Anthony Veka has officially launched People’s Republic of China (PRC) Police Liaison Team training program with RSIPF this morning (14 March 2022) at Rove Police Headquarters.
The training launched is in line with the government policy and commitment of ensuring that the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) capabilities and capacities must continue to be developed and modernised.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) commenced in July 2021.
The RAPPP supports RSIPF in six (6) core delivery pillars, one of these focuses on improving operational effectiveness by strengthening foundational enabling services, including fit for purpose Police infrastructure to improve accessibility to policing services for the communities in Solomon Islands (SI).
The National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have interviewed three co-accused yesterday 11 March 2022, in relation to the 2019 National General Election offences.
Acting Director NCID Superintendent Michael Bole says, “The three co-accused were interviewed in relation to the election offence against the Member of Parliament for North East Guadalcanal Constituency and her husband the former MP.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Buala Police Station in Isabel Province have arrested and remanded two-murder suspects recently.
Acting Director National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), Superintendent Michael Bole says, “Both male suspects are in their 20s and the deceased in this case a 17-years-old male person.”
Acting Director Superintendent Bole says, “The arrest was done after one of the two suspects allegedly hit the deceased with a mangrove stick at the back of his head.”
The National Traffic Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has relocated to a new building at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development (MID) after the civil unrest in November 2021.

China police have conducted familiarisation training with the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officers on familiarisation on new riot equipment that was handed over to RSIPF on 24 February 2021.
The training had occurred at the Rove police headquarters with two groups. First group of 13 officers attended the training last week and the second group of 12 officers attended this week.

Detectives from National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have interviewed the current Member of Parliament (MP) and Former MP for North East Guadalcanal Constituency on 6 March 2022.
The accused had been interviewed in relation to election bribery offences in the 2019 National General Election (NGE).
Both accused were interviewed and released on police bail with their charges filed before the court and they will appear before Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 21 March 2022.
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) contingent in Brisbane Australia participated in Daniels Defense 5.56 mm Rifle Instructor Qualifying Program during the week ending Friday 4 March 2022.
Elements of that training included:
• Incorporating the Daniels Defense 5.56 mm rifle into Active Armed Offender tactics;
• Understanding your training environment and orientate the environment to best meet your training needs and requirements;

Royal Solomon Islands Police Vessel (RSIPV) Gizo have transported nine survivors who are natives of Dawa Island, in Papua New Guinea (PNG), from South West of Rennel Island to Honiara after they were found drifting at sea and rescued by Taiwanese fishing boat on 24 February 2022.
Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) National Traffic Department has conducted an operation following the increasing traffic accident during the State of Public Emergency period on 1 March 2022.
Supervising Director Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “The purpose of this operation is to curb the ongoing drink drive behaviors and those unlicensed vehicles on the roads in Honiara City.”
