The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is enforcing order on emergency powers on restriction of movement of vessels and aircrafts in Honiara emergency zone starting from 6am today 22 January 2022.
The order was gazetted under emergency powers (COVID-19) (No. 3) Regulations 2021 Emergency Powers (COVID-19) (Honiara Emergency Zone) (Restriction of Movement of Vessels and Aircrafts) Order 2022
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is enforcing order on emergency powers on COVID-19 Requirements in Honiara emergency zone started from 6am today 22 January 2022.
The order was gazetted by the Solomon Islands Government under Emergency powers Act (Cap. 11) Emergency powers (COVID-19) (No. 3) Regulations 2021 Emergency powers (COVID-19) (Honiara Emergency Zone) (Requirements) Order 2022
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Public within the emergency zone are required to adhere and follow this order.”
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) advises the public in the Emergency Zone from Poha to Alligator Creek Bridge to cooperate with police and health workers during the lockdown period.
Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau says, “It has been experienced by our police and health officers that some citizens refused to take swaps during the process of the contact tracing in Honiara.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Atori police station have arrested a 30-yr-old male suspect for allegation of murder of a 26-year-old male at Busu’one village, Malaita province on 20 January 2022.
Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Inspector Charles Edward Koto says, “It is alleged that the suspect walked into the kitchen where the deceased was sitting down and cut the deceased’s neck and right hand with a bush knife.”
Police Maritime of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have conducted sea patrols from Poha to Alligator Creek Bridge to ensure there is no small boats and ships coming in and going out during the 60 hours lockdown started at 6pm on 19 January 2022.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “Restriction on movements of boats or vessels also applies during this 60hrs lockdown, any boat or ship seen moving in and out during lock-down will be dealt with seriously according to law.”
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) advises the public in the Emergency Zone from Poha to Alligator Creek Bridge to adhere to health protocols and advices during this lock down period, which started yesterday Wednesday 19th January at 6pm.
Deputy Commissioner Operation, Juanita Matanga says, “This appeal is genuine due to COVID-19 community transmission and lockdown in Honiara.”
Following the legal approval of the 60 hour lockdown officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) activated its operation and have deployed officers to their strategic locations within the Emergency Zones as of 6pm today 19 January 2022.
Deputy Commissioner Operations, Juanita Matanga says, “The lockdown started at 6pm this evening 19 January 2022 and will finish at 6am on 22 January 2022.”
42 officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have been promoted to different supervising positions within the force during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara yesterday 18 January 2022.
Among the total promoted officers, seven were females.
Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner Mostyn Mangau congratulate the officers and told the officers “Your promotions are challenging as you take on the new leadership positions to drive the RSIPF.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki have arrested a 45-year-old male suspect for an alleged murder incident of a 40-year-old male person at Kopo Village in Malaita Province on 14 January 2022.
Acting Provincial Police Commander Malaita province, Inspector Charles Edward Koto says, “It is alleged that the suspect beat the deceased with fire wood whilst in the suspect’s house. The deceased was transported to the Rohinari clinic and was pronounced dead upon arrival.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro and Police Response Team (PRT) deployment team base in Taro are conducting a search for a missing baby about 3- 4 months old at sea around Pachuava coastline of North West Choiseul, Choiseul Province on 13 January 2022.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Inspector Elliot. NGILI says, “The missing child carried by her mother on board a boat powered by a 40 horse powered engine departing Taro station and heading back home on 12 January 2022.”
