The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have responded to an explosion incident, which claimed two lives and left two in critical condition at upper Betikama area, East of Honiara yesterday 25 October 2021.

Initial report said that a family was preparing food for dinner. They lit a fire on a piece of roofing iron beside a piece of galvanised pipe 60mm in diameter and its thickness is 5mm. While the fire was burning, it heats the galvanised pipe and causes the explosion.

Provincial Police Commanders (PPC) and Directors of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) begin their five days conference hosted by the Commissioner of Police at the Rove police headquarters on 25 October 2021.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together PPCs and Directors to review work plans performance and prepare towards policing and providing National Security to other government stakeholders in 2022.

Joint operations between Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Immigration officers in Taro have arrested a 47-year-old Asian male suspect for raping a 12-years-old girl at a Logging camp in Choiseul Province recently.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria says, “The perpetrator was arrested on 12 October 2021 to Taro police stations and dealt with.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands police force (RSIPF) at Gizo in the Western Province have remanded two suspects in relation to a suspicious death of a 7-year-old girl who went missing on 14 October 2021.

Both suspects are currently remanded for 14 days at Gizo Correctional Centre as of 20 October 2021.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Tulagi Police Station together with the Community Governance and Grievance Management Project (CGGMP) have conducted a review of Yandina community by-law on 19 October 2021.

The review was conducted following community application of the by-law and identified the need to address issues concerning moral beliefs (Culture) and Customs since Yandina is a multicultural community. The by-law has been reviewed and will be launched next month.

As part of the general review on the police infrastructure in the provinces, Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Mostyn Mangau and Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) Commander, Paul Osborne has visited Buala Police Station on 19 October 2021.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today (20 October 2021) farewelled Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) Advisor James McMillan and Jenifer Saunders after serving years with the Program.

RSIPF Assistant Commissioner (AC) Patricia Leta acknowledged and greatly appreciated the service rendered by RAPPP Advisors during their years in Solomon Islands.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 20 October 2021.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active as from 8am to 2pm (20 October 2021).”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands police force (RSIP) at Gizo in Western Province are questioning two suspects in relation to a suspicious death of a 7-year-old girl who went missing on 14 October 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “On the initial report, the deceased told her elder siblings on their way home after school as they walked together that she was hungry so she started running ahead of them to quickly reach home.”
