The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is currently monitoring the situation leading up to the motion of no confidence against the Honorable Premier of Malaita Provincial Government, which will occur on 27 October 2021.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Mr Joseph Manelugu says, “Police are monitoring the situation leading up to the motion of no confidence and will not take side of any political matter but focus on the security to ensure the motion runs peacefully.”

Two male defendants aged 26 and 35-year-old have pleaded guilty for common nuisance before a sitting Magistrate in the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 8 October 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander Honiara City Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “The two defendants were found guilty for the offence and sentenced to fine $800 each. If the defendants have not paid for their fines until 22 October 2021, they will serve 30 days Imprisonment.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department are investigating an accident, which occurred at the junction between Bishop Epalle School, Ngossi and Tavio on 12 October 2021.

Deputy Director at the National Traffic Department Inspector Doreen Vaea says, “The incident occurred as a white Tipper truck registration number MC7016 was travelling down the Ngossi road when approaching Bishop Epalle Junction road got into mechanical problem and run off the main road and ditched into the left side drain of the junction.”

Twenty three-year-old Angela Taeta Raha from Mu’u village in Makira-Ulawa Province is one of only 23 female, the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has recruited out of the 70 participants in the second group of recruits for 2020 currently undergoing training at the Police Academy at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Tulagi together with the Community Governance and Grievance Management Project (CGGMP) has conducted a training program to 50 participants from Ngella and Savo from 4 to 5 October 2021.
The 50 participants both women and men from identified villages around Ngella and Savo, have participated in the leadership and Grievance mechanism training program at Kulikau Tabu Home Stay in Ngella Island Central Province.

Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Mostyn Mangau and Advisor Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) visited three Police Stations in the Western Province yesterday (13 October 2021).

Commissioner Mangau says, “The team visited Noro, Gizo and Sehe Police Stations purposely to inspect facilities as part of requirements for future infrastructure upgrades, equipment and uniform needs for officers serving in those police stations.”

As part of the community engagement at a church program at Tiabamagu in Renbel Province, the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have uprooted plants of marijuana on 12 October 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province Senior Sergeant (SSgt) Eddie Peseika says, “During police engagement at the area of the SDA Dorcas federation where the church program was held police were able to uproot marijuana plants when officers engaged with the community.”

As part of the community engagement of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) with its stakeholders, Police officers at the Tigoa Police Station will provide security during a Church program in West Rennel from 12 to 19 October 2021.

Dorcas from each Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Churches around Renbel Province have come together for the program at Teabamagu village.

It is indeed a milestone for Ngaridarao community in West Makira to launch its by-law after months of hard work by the community leaders and Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF), Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward 6 Honorable Francis Drake Tahokeni told his people during the launching of the by-law on 30 September 2021.

More than a thousand people in nearby villages took part and witnessed the program launching.
