Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Honiara City Central Police Station are investigating a break-in at the planning office of the Honiara City Council at Point Cruz between 14 and 15 February 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Superintendent John Matamaru says, “The break-in incident happened between 6pm on 14 February and 6am on 15 February 2021.The intruder(s) gained entry into the office by forcing the door open.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station in Western Province have arrested and charged a 38-year-old man on 10 February for the alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old girl at her home village on Vella la Vella Island on 9 February 2020.

The Australian Government has handed over two more new special purpose aluminum fast boats to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to assist with patrol and response operations at the western border.

The 9.2m long plate aluminum hull longboats, funded through Australia’s Defense Cooperation Program, will enhance the RSIPF’s maritime surveillance and support its delivery of remote policing.

Police in Choiseul Province call on people at Solovae Village and surrounding communities in North West Choiseul to stay out from an unexploded bomb discovered on 8 February 2021 near the Village.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Inspector Elliot Ngili says, “On 8 February 2021 people from Solovae Village reported to police that they found a bomb in the bush above the Village.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Lata Police Station in Temotu Province are investigating a homicide incident that occurred at Rakisu Village in Tikopia on 4 February 2021.

Prior to the incident, the suspect’s wife got ill and another child died as well. It was alleged that the deceased poisoned the wife of the suspect and the other child who died.

Former Archbishop of the Church of Melanesia, Bishop George Takeli has officially opened the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) first recruit course for this year at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara this morning 8 February 2021.

There are 70 recruits - 40 male and 30 female undergoing the training. Only 67 recruits were present during the opening ceremony while three others are still making their way to the RSIPF Academy.

The recruits were selected from the nine provinces of Solomon Islands after applying and passing the selection criteria.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station in the Western province are investigating the death of an adult male person that occurred in the township on 30 January 2021

An initial report says that on the night of 29 January 2021, the deceased with one woman spend a night at one of the motels at Gizo. During the night, the deceased felt dizzy so he asked the woman to massage him. On the next day, the woman first woke up, touched the deceased’s body, and felt it very cold.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station in the Western province have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male suspect for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl at Suanatali Village on Vella la Vella Island between January and December 2020.
An initial report says the suspect committed the alleged offence on the victim without her consent on two occasions between January and December 2020 at Suanatali Village.
