Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station in Western Province have arrested and charged a 17 -year-old male person for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl at Sorezaru Village in Western Province on 17 January 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Inspector Wilken Miriki says, “The defendant in this alleged rape incident committed the offence without the consent of the victim on two occasion between January and December 2020 at their Sorezaru Village at Vella la Vella Island.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson Police Station have arrested another suspect in relation to Winwin robbery incident in Central Guadalcanal after he surrendered himself to police on 14 January 2021.

A 31-year-old suspect was arrested following arrangement made by the investigation team to surrender himself to police. The suspect accepted the arrangement and travel from Daravarau Village in Malaita Province to Honiara.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department in Honiara will mount an operation starts on 18 January to 31 January 2021

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The operation will be focused mainly on:
• Traffic management and control relating to offending vehicle drivers blocking lanes, driving on footpaths and parking on footpaths;

• Unlicensed drivers and vehicles and person permitting unlicensed drivers and vehicles;

• Normal vehicle checks;

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Henderson Police Station have arrested another suspect in relation to Winwin robbery incident in Central Guadalcanal on 12 January 2021

A 47 -year-old suspect was arrested at Naha 4 after his attempt to escape was fail. The suspect is from Tobaita in Malaita Province who residing at Naha 4 in Honiara.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RISPF) at Gizo Police Station in Western Province have rescued eleven people drifting at sea between Choiseul and Western Province on 10 January 2021.

Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau says, “The eleven people on board a bray boat powered by 40 Horse powered engine. They left Tunoe Village, Katurasele in South Choiseul to Gizo after Christmas and New Year Holiday. While travelling on the fine sea they have encountered mechanical problem with their engine and drifted.”

Four female police officers will become the first drone operators of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) currently undergo four days training at Rove Police headquarters.

Four Police Officers are Sergeant Florence Wasi from the Close Personal Protection (CPP) Unit, Police Constable Elizabeth Tome from Naha Police, Ethel Leamana from RSIPF Forensic Unit and Lucy Binuika from White River Police.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station in Western Province have acknowledged the National Fisheries Development (NFD) vessel Solomon JADE and crews for rescuing two male person drifted at sea on 10 January 2021.

The two-fisher men from Mbabanga Island went fishing on a rafter outside of Rendova and Simbo on the 7 January 2021 and did not return home until 9 January 2021. The two-fisher men have mechanical problem with their engine and drifted.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) make its 10th deployment of police officers to the common border between Solomon Islands (SI) and Papua New Guinea (PNG) on 10 January 2021.

The deployment is part of the ongoing operation to support the leading agencies at the border between SI-PNG to fight against COVID-19 since the declaration of the State of Public Emergency on 25 March 2020.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station are investigating a grievous harm incident occurred at Feraladoa in East of Honiara on 1 January 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Police Station, Superintendent John Matamaru says, “The initial report revealed that the victim and his cousin brother were drinking beer prior to the time of the incident. At the time of the incident, a male suspect uttered abusive words to the victim and his cousin brother and argument start to heat up.”
