Relatives of the man whose dead body was discovered in the middle of the road in the Foxwood area on North Guadalcanal on the night of 13 September 2020 have come forward to identify him following a call from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force early this week.
The man, believed to be in 30’s, was from a village in the Lau Mbaelelea Constituency in North Malaita. He was residing at Sun Valley at the time of his death.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) calls on members of the public to help identify the dead body of a man believed to be in his 30’s or 40’s after an alleged fatal traffic accident in Foxwood area in North Guadalcanal on 13 September 2020.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Chief Superintendent Ishmael Vunagi says, “The dead body was discovered about 10 pm last night (13 September) by the driver of another vehicle and his wife who were travelling into Honiara. The body was laying in the middle of the road.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Advisor Marella King of the Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) in recognition of her services to the RSIPF Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the Government’s ICT Support Unit (ICTSU).
Advisor King also received an International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal from RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau.
Advisor King has been with SIPDP since August 2017.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province are investigating the alleged murder of a 40-year-old man at Sisikwae Village, West Kwara’ae on 9 September 2020.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) in Malaita Province Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “According to a report received by police at Auki the deceased got married to a woman from Sisikwae Village and both had four children. The wife of the deceased is believed to have had an affair with three other men from the same village.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) in Honiara are investigating an incident involving a Chinese national under COVID-19 quarantine at the Pacific Casino Hotel in Honiara on 3 September 2020.
It was reported to police that a vehicle entered the Pacific Casino Hotel premises and a parcel was passed to another person in the vehicle by the Chinese national under quarantine at the Hotel through the ventilation window of a room on the southern side of the premises.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) has established 33 crime prevention committees (CPC) within communities in the three constituencies of Honiara City.
The 33 crime prevention committees were established to prevent crime happening in the communities. The CPC in each community will work together with the police and report any crime happening in their community.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) clarify that a yacht sighted at Vainkoro Island, Temotu Province was cleared by Customs and Immigration at Noro recently.
Temotu Police Operation Manager, Inspector Walter Leleina says, “The yacht last port of call in Western Province, Honiara, Santa Anna and then to Vanikoro Islands since last month.”
