Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Honiara City Central Police Station are investigating an alleged homicide incident that resulted in death of a 40-year-old man at the upper cliff next to the Botanical Garden in west Honiara on 25 July 2020.
The body was discovered at about 7 am on the morning of 25 July 2020.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, (RSIPF) National Traffic Department have recorded 22 traffic incidences in the period 17 to 23 July 2020 in Honiara compared to the previous week when 40 cases were reported.
This is a decrease of 18 cases.
Complainants reported two cases while officers of the National Traffic Department reported 20 cases.
The 22 incidences included:
• Five cases for using uninsured motor vehicle;
• Three cases each for using unlicensed motor vehicle and careless driving;

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Communications Centre (PCC) and the Police Response Team (PRT) will benefit from a Codan Radio Workshop underway at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara from 20 – 22 July 2020.
The PCC and Pacific Vaized Company Codan Radio Agent are coordinating the training to increase the radio communication skills of officers with the newly introduced Codan radio equipment. The Australian Defence Force donated the equipment to the RSIPF through the Australian High Commissioner in Honiara.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial Joseph Manelugu visited officers at the Buala Police Station in the Isabel Province from 6 to 11 July 2020 as part of his tour to the provincial police stations to discuss discipline issues, police infrastructure, conduct administrative training and preparations for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, (RSIPF) National Traffic Department have recorded40 traffic incidences in the period 10 to 16 July 2020 in Honiara compared to the previous week when only 29 cases were reported.
This is an increase of 11 cases.
Complainants reported five cases while officers of the National Traffic Department reported 35 cases.
The 40 incidences included:
• Nine cases for presence of alcohol in person’s blood;
• Seven cases for using unlicensed motor vehicle;
Police at the Naha Police Station in East Honiara are investigating the discovery of the dead body of an infant at the Ranadi Dump site on 15 July 2020.
Provincial Police Commander Honiara City Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “The body of the infant was discovered by someone residing at the dump site while going through the rubbish thrown there by a Honiara City Council garbage truck on the morning of 15 July 2020.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in the Central Province took 33 cases before a recent court circuit conducted in the Province but only 15 matters were able to be dealt with and 14 suspects convicted for imprisonment.
The court circuit was held from 1 to 10 July 2020 with a team consisting of one Principle Magistrate, one defence council, two officers from the Office of the Director Public Prosecution and police prosecution in Central Province
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Taro Police Station in Choiseul Province are investigating an arson incident that occurred at Kubokisa Village, Northeast Choiseul on 1 July 2020.
It is alleged the incident occurred early in the morning of 1 July 2020 when the complainant discovered that his private kindy classroom was completely burned down by unknown persons. The building was made of bush materials.
