Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Taro Police Station in Choiseul Province are investigating an arson incident that occurred at Kubokisa Village, Northeast Choiseul on 1 July 2020.

It is alleged the incident occurred early in the morning of 1 July 2020 when the complainant discovered that his private kindy classroom was completely burned down by unknown persons. The building was made of bush materials.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the patrol Boat Auki assisted other government agencies during the two-day lockdown at Komaliae Village in the Shortland Islands, Western Province from 14 to 16 July 2020.

The patrol boat Auki delivered food to the people of Komaliae Village during the lock down which ended at 6 am this morning (16 July 2020).

Continuous bad weather in the Temotu Province is hampering efforts by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and members of the local community in the search for six people who been missing while travelling in an outboard motorised boat (OBM) from Kala Bay on Santa Cruz Island to the Reef Islands on 11 July 2020.

Police at the Lata Police Station only received a report on the matter on 13 July 2020.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (RSIPF EOD) team will be conducting a Render Safe Procedure task in the Kongulai Heights area, West Honiara from 8 am to 2 pm tomorrow Tuesday 14 July 2020.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of the EOD team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “This is in response to an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) report submitted to police previously by communities in the area. The UXO is currently not safe to be moved and a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) task is now required.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have conducted cybercrime awareness for youth and children at Rendova, Rano, Vancouver and Ela Beach United Church in the Western Province, students at Tulagi in Central province and RSIPF female soccer team members in Honiara last week.

RSIPF encourages all Solomon Islanders to remain vigilant against the threat of cybercrime, as we need to look out for ourselves, our family and friends so that we can all stay safe whilst online

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) commends the good citizens of Solomon Islands for a safe and peaceful 42nd Independence Anniversary celebration on Tuesday 7 July 2020.

Deputy Commissioner Ian Vaevaso says, “Despite the cancellation of the official celebrations in Honiara a lot of people, organisations and communities went ahead to mark the historical occasion with their own activities.”

The National Traffic Department of the RSIPF is investigating a fatal accident involving one male person from Tetupa Village GPPOL 3, North East Guadalcanal, who was hit by a bus late yesterday afternoon (8 July 2020) in the Henderson area East of Honiara.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have charged a senior government officer with careless driving following a traffic accident involving a government motor vehicle, which happened early morning Saturday 4 July 2020 near the Iron Bottom Sound Hotel in West Honiara.

It is alleged the G-plated hilux vehicle was travelling in a westerly direction when the motor vehicle veered off the road and collided into a concrete wall outside the Iron Bottom Sound Hotel. The motor vehicle sustained damages while the senior government officer escaped any injuries.
