The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) reminds members of the public that causing unnecessary loud noise and public nuisance in a public places and in our communities is an offence in law.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Superintendent George Paikai says, “Causing unnecessary loud noise may amount to common nuisance, an offense pursuant to section 172 and 187 of the Penal Code.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested four people in the Monga area in North East Guadalcanal following a raid on alleged kwaso brewing on 11 December 2019.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “The raid, which is a joint operation between the Guadalcanal Provincial Response Unit (PRU) and the Honiara City Central Response Unit (CRU), happened after police received a number of complaints from people in Aola who travel by truck from Honiara.”
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Temotu Province is appealing to the good people in that Province to celebrate Christmas and New Year responsibly with the true meaning of the occasion.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Temotu Province, Superintendent James Toaki says, “With only a few days before Christmas Day and about two weeks before the New Year 2020, I would like to appeal to the good people of Temotu Province to be law abiding citizens.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are maintaining a presence during the one-week the Divine Mercy National Congress being held at the Nila Catholic Mission Station in the Shortland Islands from 16 – 21 December 2019.
The Congress, which is the first of its kind to be held in the Shortlands region, is expected to attract about 2,000 participants from within Solomon Islands and overseas.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) under Operation Bougainville Referendum are still maintaining a high security alert at the Solomon Islands common with Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Acting RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The three escapees are Frank Firimolea, Willie Olo and Dilo Faiga. They escaped from the Rove CSSI facility between 6 and 9 pm last night 15 December 2019. Police encourage the public to not approach the escapees.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) second recruit group for 2019 has started their training at the Police Academy at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara today with a call on them to serve the government and people of the country with integrity, professionalism and respect.
There are a total of 69 new recruits from Honiara and throughout the provinces including 13 female candidates.
Before officially opening the 26 weeks training program, Acting Commissioner Mostyn Mangau congratulated the new recruits for their selection to join the RSIPF.
The Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Makira Ulawa Province, Superintendent Peter Sitai has thanked members of the public in that Province for the good behaviour shown during the Provincial Assembly Election for the twenty wards and the East Makira Constituency Bye-Election.
PPC Sitai says, “The polling on 11 December and the counting of ballots from 12 December 2019 conducted at the provincial capital Kirakira has been peaceful.”
