Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested and charged a 38 year-old Male for allegedly selling beer at the booth of his vehicle in Honiara on 4 May 2019.

The accused was using his car to sell his beer illegally. Operational duty officers were patrolling Honiara City when they came across this vehicle which was parked at Fox Street, Hapai area. Upon checking the vehicle Police Officers confiscated 6 cartons of Canoe Lager beer.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) made several arrests overnight in Honiara as police continues to respond to incidences throughout the City.

RSIPF Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Support Juanita Matanga says, “Overnight our operational officers in Honiara responded to a few isolated incidents in Honiara, and so far four arrests have been made for possession of marijuana and drink and drive.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is continuing with its high visibility presence in Honiara as part of the normal police routine duty.

Traffic officers from the Kukum Traffic Centre will also be out on the roads to conduct traffic checks to ensure there is safety for all road users on the City’s roads.

RSIPF Commissioner Matthew Varley says, “Although the situation is now back to normal police will continue to provide high visibility police presence in and around Honiara City and parts of Guadalcanal.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Tulagi, Central Province have arrested a 21- year-old man on 30 April 2019 for allegedly burning his father’s house at Polomu’hu Village, on Big Ngella Island, Central Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “Police was alerted on 29 April 2019 of an incident of the alleged arson at Polomu’hu Village, in Big Ngella Island Central Province.”
