Police in Kirakira, Makira Ulawa province have arrested a 40-year-old male in relation to a rape incident that occurred at Kaonasugu Village, Makira/ Ulawa Province on 11 April 2019.

The accused was arrested after the victim filed a report at Kirakira Police Station regarding the incident on 12 April 2019 and on the same day the accused was arrested.

It will be alleged in court that on the 11th of April 2019, the victim went after her parents who were drunk to her auntie’s home about 200 – 250 meters away from the main village and stayed there.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has officially thanked the New Zealand Defence Force in a ceremony today (11 April 2019) at the Rove Police Headquarters for their assistance during the National General Election (NGE).

The New Zealand Defence Force was part of the Combined Task Group which included the Australian Defence Force which assisted the RSIPF and the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission with contingency logistics support

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force farewelled one of their long serving Police Constables in a moving funeral service at the Wesley United Church in Honiara on 9 April 2019.

Late Police Constable Susie Seuika was called to rest in the early hours of 6 April 2019 after a short illness.

Her passing has struck Police officers across the country, especially her colleagues at the Police Band, her RSIPF Rugby team mates ‘The Royals’ and of course the RSIPF WAN officers.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating the death of a male person between Sulufou and Oema artificial Islands in Malaita Province on 8 April 2019.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joseph Manelugu who is currently Commander of the National General Election Police Operation Centre (POC) says, “It is alleged that on the afternoon of 8 April 2019, an argument broke out between supporters of two election candidates in the Baegu/ Asifola Constituency.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) commends members of the public for their great behaviour shown during the National General Election (NGE) including during the counting of ballots and the declaration of the results which ended on 7 April 2019.

“I would like to thank members of the public all throughout the country for the great behaviour shown after the remaining winning candidates’ results in the NGE were declared on 7 April 2019,” says Commissioner Matthew Varley

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are mourning the death of a senior Police Constable who passed away on 6 April 2019.

As part of the Police protocol all the RSIPF flags are flown at half-mast in honour of a fallen comrade.

Late Senior Police Constable Suzie Seuika, was from Mole Vanga Village in Choiseul Province. She served the RSIPF for 22 years.
