Police at Kirakira in Makira-Ulawa Province are investigating a death of a 30-year-old man on 31 May 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Peter Sitai says “Currently my officers are investigating the death incident which occurred on 31 May 2018.”

PPC Sitai says, “The suspect allegedly punched the deceased on his head during a drinking brawl at Huro village, a kilometre away in west of Kirakira township.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek East of Honiara on Tuesday 5 June 2018.

Supervising Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Staff Sergeant Peter Ririvere says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal area will be active from 8am to 2pm on 5 June 2018.”

There should be more understanding of the project management process among officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Solomon Islands Police Development Programme (SIPDP) following the completion of a Project Management Training held at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara from 15 – 18 May 2018.

Thirty two officers of the RSIPF and SIPDP completed Project Management Training. There were two training groups with each of the groups doing the training for two days.

Police at Ringi in the Western Province are investigating a fatal accident at Kolombangara Island on 25 May 2018, which resulted to the death of a man in his 30’s.

The deceased was believed to be working for Kolombangara Forestry Plantation Limited (KFPL) as a laborer.

Police at Lata in Temotu Province have arrested an alleged suspect for burning of four bulldozers and two excavator machines at Naedirke bush, in Santa Cruz Islands on 30 May 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent James Toaki says, “At about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday) morning my officers arrested the suspect from his home village.”

Superintendent Toaki says, “The suspect has been charged with four counts in relation to the burning incident. The suspect is currently in police custody and expected to appear before magistrate for remand application.”

Community at Grassland-Kwaio Settlement in East Honiara, behind King George VI (KGVI) area benefit from police crime prevention awareness talk conducted on 27 May 2018.

National Community Policing officer, Sergeant John Manegaua says, My team on Sunday, 27 May had conducted an awareness talk at the newly settlement, Kwaio Settlement, behind KG VI area in which more than one hundred people attended the awareness talk.”

Guadalcanal Police confirm alleged body parts of a young boy allegedly attacked by a crocodile found during a search conducted today 29 May 2018 at Singe village, North East Guadalcanal.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “I can confirm that members from Singe Village have found few pieces alleged to belong to the missing boy’s body and clothes. The pieces found have been put into a coffin for a proper burial; the remaining body of the child is yet to be retrieved.”
