Police confiscate Kwaso and Marijuana with a street value of about $5,600.00 at the Green Valley, Yellow bamboo bus stop today during it’s New Year’s Operation.

Forward Commander Central Police Post, Assistant Commissioner National Operations (Supervising) Charles Fox Sau said, “Those illegal substances, dangerous drugs (Marijuana) and (kwaso) confiscated today was made during a routine patrol conducted this morning in that vicinity.

Chief Superintendent Sau says, no arrests were made as the suspects had escaped when police called in at the said market.”

Police in Tetere arrested a 17-year-old male suspect for wounding a victim at Luluga area in North East Guadalcanal on 24 December 2017.

Provincial Police Commander, Guadalcanal Police Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “The Motives behind the Incident was an argument over a mobile phone. The alleged suspect confronted the victim to return his mobile phone but the victim denied stealing of the suspect’s mobile phone.”

Superintendent Manetoga says, “The suspect use a bush knife and cut the victims left arm and cause serious injuries.”

Police in Gizo arrested 11 suspects for illegal sale of alcohol of during the Christmas Festivity Operation in two different locations.

The two location raided during the operation were in Rarumana in Vona Vona lagoon and Retava village in Vella la Vella in Western Province.

Provincial Police Commander, Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The Seven alleged suspects apprehended in Retava will appear in Gizo Magistrates Court on the 22 January 2018. Police charge them for restriction of making liquor (home brew).”

Makira-Ulawa Provincial Police, today (29 December) have reported peaceful so far during Christmas celebration, since it started its operation.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “The Christmas season celebration throughout the province has been relatively calm despite few incidences been reported and attended to by the police.”

Police in Auki and Atori, Malaita Province have arrested a 22 year-old male for allegation of raping an 8 year-old girl on the 27 December 2017 at Ogou village in East Kwaio; in the Malaita Province.

The man is in police custody while police investigations are continuing.

The victim was transferred to Honiara for medical attention and Sexual Assault Team in Honiara is involved in this matter.

Guadalcanal Police formally charged two male suspects for rioters codified under section 81 of penal code and common assault as an additional charge under section 58 (1) of the road and transport act.

The alleged suspects were formally arrested and charged following the incident of rock throwing at Henderson Police Station on the early hours on the 25 December 2017 during Christmas Festive Operation.

Guadalcanal Police arrested three male suspects during the Christmas Festivity Operation for demanding and Malicious damage nearby Mark Warth area.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “Suspects are formally arrested and charged for demanding with menaces and Malious damage to properties. The three suspects appear in Central Magistrate Court today and released on strict bail condition by the court.

Police in Western Province are preparing for the New Year (2018) festivity operation after days of busy with Christmas festivity operation.

A 38-year-old man was arrested by Police in Gizo, Western Province at KHY Shop area in Gizo Township on 26 December 2017.

The man has been on the run for alleged allegations of Restriction on making liquor, going arm in public place, intimidation and common assault.

It was alleged that the man was brewing liquor locally known in the Solomon Islands as home brew, threatened people and attacked a man on the 25 December 2017 at Supato Village Vella vella, in the Western Province.

Police in Tulagi, Central Province responded to a report of 7 year-old male attacked by a crocodile at Poipodilo settlement via Voloa main village Central West big Ngella today (28 December 2017) and assisted the boy for medical attention.

It was alleged the boy was swimming in a river at Poipodila settlement and then the crocodile attacked him by pulling the boy into the river and was lucky relatives of the boy show the attack and responded by distracting the reptile with stone attacks and cause the dangerous reptile to leave the boy.
