The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) is appealing to vehicle owners to come forward and report damages to their vehicles.
Police made this call in light of reports circulating on social media of vehicles being targeted in relation to abduction reports in Honiara.
RSIPF Commissioner, Mostyn Mangau, said the RSIPF is aware of the current situation and is working on it, as a matter of importance, to identify any culprit and dealt with.

Commissioner Mangau said school authorities may set precautionary measures for the safety of their students but from a police security perspective, general security in town is under control and public should go about their normal business.

The RSIPF said posting deliberate false information on social media will only cause more panic and fear in communities.
Police made this appeal as more social media accounts posted and share false contents relating to alleged attempted abduction and kidnaping in the city.
RSIPF said posting crafted disinformation contents can be risky as it will cause fear and hatred in the communities.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) operation in Western Province from 21 to 28 October 2024.
The operations will cover the following communities.
• Munda, Noro, Baeroko, Enoghae, and surrounding areas on New Georgia Island
• Ringgi, Teme, Kuzi and surrounding areas on Kolombangara Island

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Western Province (WP) from Munda, Noro, Ringi, Parakasi and Gizo have recently undergone a two-day workshop on command capability.
This operation command capability workshop conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) was first of its kind held in the WP for supervisors of different police station in the WP.
During the workshop, the Deputy Team Leader of CPLT, Prof. Zhang Bing, shared theories and practices of police operational command, and led a discussion on personal capabilities for the participants.

A suspect in his 20s has been arrested for the allegation of murder after a stabbing incident at Gilbert camp area early this week.
It was alleged that the suspect stabbed the deceased with a short knife on his neck after an argument broke out between them. The motive behind the stabbing incident is still under police investigation.
The deceased, who was in his 30s, was rushed to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) and pronounced dead by the medical authorities.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF)’s Professional Standards and Internal Investigations (PSII), with the support of the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), delivered a week of specialised Discipline Process and Procedure Training to 36 RSIPF Discipline Officers.
The RSIPF’s PSII investigate serious misconduct and criminal matters, whereas Discipline Officers investigate and provide recommendations at a local level, in relation to low level internal disciplinary matters.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) will conduct a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) Operation to one of the live bombs found at Betidoku, Gilbert Camp area, East Honiara on Wednesday 16 October 2024.
Acting Director of EODD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The task will be carried out on the Eastern part of Gilbert Camp community and will be active from 9am to 2pm.”
Police in Kirakira and members of the Makira Ulawa Provincial Government witnessed the launching of By-Laws of communities in East Haununu ward 20, West Makira, Makira Province on the 10 October 2024.
Marogu, Hinikawa, Hautarohagi and Aranihata communities are the latest communities to launch their By-Laws with the help of Kirakira police.
