Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is one of the supporters of the Avaiki Netball Challenge that was opened in Honiara on 5 July.
RSIPF Operations Manager for Honiara city, Inspector Tex Tafoa, was joined by members of the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) and the RSIPF and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) in witnessing the opening of the tournament at the SMI Netball courts at townground.
Seven new vehicles valued at about two million Solomon Islands dollars were handed over to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today 6 July 2023 at Rove police headquarters.
The latest seven X-trail vehicles are a gift from the people of Australia which were facilitated by the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

Two suspects have been convicted for rape incidents in Temotu province during a High Court trial at Lata from 26 to 30 June 2023.
A recent five-day High Court have heard few cases resulting in the conviction and imprisonment of two suspects after being found guilty on rape charges by the High Court Judge Mr. Leonard Maena.
The two suspects convicted were represented by Counsel Donation Houa of Lata Pubsol office and the crown prosecutors were John Zoze and Patricia Tabepuda of the Director Public Prosecution Office.
Thirty-nine officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have graduated and joined the Police Respond Department (PRD) after completing a 9 weeks basic training course in Honiara.
It is another milestone in terms of capacity development, as thirty-nine trained officers successfully completed a basic training course at Rove Police headquarters today on 30 June 2023.
Two females were among the thirty-nine officers graduated.

Five unidentified masked men armed with knives, use petrol bombs and attack a couple at Kukum on 2 July 2023.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Honiara City Police are currently investigating the incident.
The couple were on their way to tow a car which had a mechanical problem and encountered five masked men armed with knives and throwing petrol bombs at their cars
It was alleged that those masked men threw petrol bombs at the two vehicles and started cutting the vehicles with bush knives and threatening to kill them.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Honiara City Police and our security partners have visited crime hotspot areas in Honiara last week.
As part of the preparation for the Pacific Games 2023 (PG23) police is gearing up its police presence in some of the hotspot areas in Honiara to reduce crime.
Areas visited during the high visibility operation were Talise, Borderline, Kobito and Central Market.

The RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) copen awareness program conducted in schools across Honiara has proven to have helped curb copen use among students who participated in the program.
The trend of students using copen appears to have declined, according to teachers interviewed. The awareness has reached thousands of students from about 30 schools. Teachers from at least three schools have come out to share this positive update.

The capability of Close Personal Protection (CPP) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) boosted with the latest policing equipment’s handover by the People’s Republic of China at Rove Police headquarters on 28 June 2023.
Among the latest capabilities that were handed over are night-vision devices, drones, vehicle search mirrors, full range wireless signal jammer, other protective items and two new vehicles which cost about 5.5 million Solomon Island dollars.

Two permanent dwelling houses were burnt down in ashes at Tebaieha village in Renbel Province on 23 June 2023.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa in Renbel Province are currently investigating the arson incident.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Renbel Province Inspector Eddie Peseika says, “ upon receiving the report Tigoa police attended to the scene and confirmed that both houses were burnt down completely.”
PPC Peseika says, “Police in Tigoa registered an enquiry file and investigation into the matter continues.”
