The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF)-Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) has continued to promote a community partnership with Solomon Islands people.
Since its commencement in mid-2021, RAPPP employed Locally Engaged Contractors (LEC) to assist in developing and delivering its program in support of the RSIPF. The AFP, through RAPPP, are committed to continuing to work with the RSIPF and Solomon Islands communities to support a peaceful secure future.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station (CPS) are investigating the death of a young man after he fell off from a double cabin Hilux at Town ground area on 12 April 2023.
RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “The Hilux were travelling easterly direction from one of the beaches in West Guadalcanal until they reached the front of the British and Zealand High Commission Office main road the deceased fell off from the Hilux.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will mount an operation for the next parliament sitting next week.
Police Officers will conduct proactive patrols and do some road checks in some parts of the Honiara City.
A good number of police officers will be involved in this parliament sitting. This includes Police officers from Honiara, Guadalcanal and Officers at Rove PHQ.
A total of 66 new recruits were welcomed in an official opening yesterday (12 April 2023) at the Police Headquarters at Rove.
The Guest of Honour Honourable Minister for the Ministry of Police National Security and Correctional Services Mr. Anthony Veke and the Permanent Secretary Ms. Karen Galo Kale attended the official opening of the new recruit course.

Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Service Honourable Anthony Veke welcomes 66 new Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) recruits today (12 April 2023) at Police Headquarters at Rove.
The recruit course is named Titus Rore Recruit Course 1/23 and it consists of 43 males and 23 females representing all nine provinces.
Hon Anthony Veke says, “The interest and commitment to undertake policing duties is a very prestigious one. It comes with a lot of commitment, integrity and a strong sense of national pride and responsibility.
The Director for National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has attended the Annual Executive Steering Committee meeting held for New Zealand Solomon Islands Policing Support Programme (NZ SIPSP) in Honiara recently.
NCPD Director Superintendent John Matamaru says, “NZ SIPSP is one of the major supporters of RSIPF on Crime Prevention (CPC) Strategy. They have provided capacity development programs and sustainability of our corporation as partners in the policing aspect of the Solomon Government through RSIPF.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will be conducting a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) to a live bomb found at the Foxwood area in North Guadalcanal tomorrow (12 April 2023).
Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The task will be carried out not far from the Foxwood highway road before the Tina road junction and will be active from 8am to 1pm.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira Police Station have responded to six reported incidents that occurred during the Easter period at KiraKira town in Makira-Ulawa Province.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “It is good to see that most people celebrated this Easter peacefully and reflected on what Easter really is. However, there are few minor incidents that occurred throughout the Easter season, most of which are alcohol related.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a 17-year-old male suspect for arm robbery on 9 April 2023.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Police Station, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said it was alleged that the suspect arm with a kitchen knife grabbed the victim and pointed the knife on her neck.
PPC Robo said the suspect threatened the victim to surrender her phone to him otherwise he would stab her with the kitchen knife. She had no option and released the phone to the suspect and the suspect escaped.
