Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Crime Prevention Department in Honiara are continuing with its awareness program targeting schools in Honiara to give awareness of Copen and its impact that is currently affecting students nowadays.
The awareness team comprises RSIPF and Australian Federal Police Partnership Program (RAPPP) with the officers of NCPD and the Health officer from the Honiara City Council.
A total of 15 officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Staff Sergeant this morning (30 March 2023).
Eleven officers were promoted to Sergeant Rank while four officers were promoted to Senior Sergeant Positions. Four females among those newly promoted officers.
Commissioner of RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau said these promotions are important to ensure we have a strong and capable leadership team in the RSIPF. The responsibility is on us to take up full responsibility for policing and security in Solomon Islands.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Honiara City Council (HCC) law enforcement have conducted an awareness on road safety and littering this morning (29 March 2023).
The awareness is part of the ‘safe and green games’ government initiatives in preparation for the Pacific Games 2023 (PG23) that will be happening from 19 November to 2 December 2023.
Central Response Unit and Fire Services of the RSIPF also form part of the awareness from White River to Honiara City Council.

Henderson Police Station (HPS) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) under renovation after a ground-breaking ceremony took place on 16 March 2023.
Members of the Australian Defense Force (ADF), New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF), Australian Federal Police (AFP) and RSIPF were present for the start of what will be an exciting road ahead with the upgrade of the station.
During the ceremony, RSIPF Assistant Commissioner (AC), Simpson Pogeava spoke of his gratitude towards the ADF, NZDF and AFP for their continuing support and assistance towards the RSIPF.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 29 March 2023.
Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active as from 8am to 1pm (29 March 2023).”
Schools that have received the Copen awareness program delivered by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) have hailed the program as a success.
The copen awareness program, which is supported by the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) and other stakeholders, has covered 11 high schools in and around Honiara. The program aims to reach 30 high schools.
RSIPF Honiara City Operations Manager, Inspector Tex Tafoa, said copen is a concern for the police due to its harmful effects on children.

Police Officers at Central Police Station (CPS) have arrested 14 suspects for play pass (gambling) at Rove market and Independence Valley at White River area yesterday (25 March 2023)
An Operation ‘Stopem gambling’ was successfully executed by the members of the CPS Support Team, Echo Shift, Central Response Team, Police Response Team and Solomon International Assistance Force officers.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro and Police Response Team (PRT) have arrested 10 suspects for burning down three excavators in relation to a land dispute at Pangoe in East Choiseul early this month.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said the investigation stated that the motive behind the arson incident is related to land issue which logging currently operated in east Pangoe.
Commissioner Mangau said initially, it is a long standing civil issue between parties involved. Since it involves the burning, now it becomes a police matter.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has highly commended members of the public for the good behaviour during the high dignitaries visit to Honiara (Solomon Islands) a few days ago.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “RSIPF is very pleased with the behaviour of the citizen since the arrival of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan His Excellency Mr Hayashi Yoshimasa on 19 March followed by the visit of National Security Council Coordinator for the Indo-Pacific Dr Kurt Campbell with other hierarchy officials of USA on 20 March 2023.”
