Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Kirakira Police Station have witnessed the Launching of the Maniwiriwiri community (Ward 11) By-Law in Central Bauro, Makira Ulawa Province on 25 August 2023.

This event was successfully implemented through the continuous effort and support from the Crime Prevention Unit at Kirakira Police Station and the assistance received from the community.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), will commence a Traffic Safety Awareness program in selected schools throughout Honiara next Monday.

The RAPPP’s Health, Wellbeing, Community, Gender and Youth Engagement (HWCGYE) Project and the RSIPF’s National Traffic Centre identified six schools to participate in this awareness program.

The schools are; Coronation, St. Nicholas, Mbua Valley, Florence Young, Kukum SDA and Perch.

New Zealand Police attached to the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme continue to deliver the five Step Mindset training programme for the Royal Solomon Island Police Force.

New Zealand Police working alongside National Crime Prevention department staff, Learning, and Development staff from the RSIPF deliver the training to assist the RSIPF to be the best that they can be – every day.

Last week NZ Police staff and RSIPF travelled to Western province and delivered this valuable training along with Family Violence Training to the RSIPF staff in Gizo and Seghe.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has gifted new gym equipment to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at RSIPF Rove Headquarters on 25 August.

The equipment, delivered through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), will increase the capacity of the Health and Wellness Fitness Centre providing RSIPF officers with improved access to high quality gym set up.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Supervising Commissioner Mr Ian Vaevaso has attended and witnessed the gifting ceremony of Tinahulu Police Station in Central Guadalcanal on 22 August 2023.

The completion and success of the Tinahulu Police Station is made possible through collaboration between the Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) and the Landowners.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force & Australian Federal Police Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), delivered timely support to the White River Community High School (WRCHS) Sports Day which took place at Town Ground recently.

The program started with a parade followed by entertainment, speeches and gift presentations. The sports program involved futsal, volleyball, basketball and netball.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Director of National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) attended a Community Policing (COMPOL) Course held in Tokyo, Japan, recently.

There were 21 COMPOL directors from around the world who attended the 15-days program where three directors are from the Pacific region (Solomon Islands, PNG and Samoa).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) ‘Titus Rore’ recruits graduated on11 August 2023 and received not only their recruitment training certificates but also bibles gifted by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The gift was delivered under the RAPPP Health & Wellbeing Program which aims to support the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of RSIPF members.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of a large bomb at Vatupilei Area, North West of Guadalcanal on Monday 14 August 2023.

Supervising Officer In-charge of EOD, Senior Sergeant Peter Ririvere says, “The Vatupilei Demolition Range in North West Guadalcanal will be active from 10am to 1pm (14th August 2023).”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has welcomed 65 incoming Police officers who have graduated as police constable yesterday (11 August 2023) at Rove Police Headquarters.

The graduates consist of 45 male and 20 females who were selected from all nine provinces. The patron of the recruit course is Pastor Titus Rore of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The recruit course ran for 18 weeks with intensive training and mentoring from the Police Academy. Five officers were discharged during the training due to disciplinary matters.
