Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have arrested a 24 year-old male person for stabbing a 19 year-old male person at King George (KG) market area on 24 December 2022.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Supervising, Superintendent Chris Laekalia says, “The victim and his friends dropped from a public bus at Uncle Alick bus stop and walked towards KG market where the victim resides.”
The Operation Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a 47-year-old male person in relation to the death of a 27-year-old male person at Borderline area in East Honiara on 26 December 2022.
Supervising Director NCID Inspector Leslie Simao says, “The deceased were drinking kwaso (homebrew) along the road at Kobito 3 and Borderline area when approached by the suspect asking for a match. The boys replied they have no matches but the suspect insisted and later left.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) led by Commissioner Zhang visited five RSIPF police officers’ families during the festive period.
CPLT presented some daily necessities and sent warm Christmas greetings during their visit.
The majority of those families are under medical situation and confronted with multiple difficulties. CPLT officers had a face-to-face conversation with each family and expressed sympathy as well as willingness to offer help for their situation.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have conducted a mediation in relation to the murder incident at Borderline on 26 December 2022.
The mediation was between the deceased and the suspect’s party and it took place at Naha police station.
The mediation was guided by RSIPF Superintendent William Foufaka and Honiara City Operations Manager Inspector Tex Tafoa.
Superintendent William Foufaka says, “The mediation was done in respect of our Melanesian culture and to maintain peace between parties involved.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara have arrested a male shop keeper for allegedly stolen SBD 164,000 including other currencies that are yet to be recovered.
Police Provincial Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo says, “A shop owner of a shop at Capital Park (East Honiara), a Chinese National woman in her 50’s reported that a male shopkeeper stole money from a cabinet in her bedroom.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province charged and remanded a 45-year-old male suspect for the allegation of rape of a 7-year-old girl on 21 December 2022.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai said investigation into the rape incident has been completed and the accused was charged and remand for seven counts of sexual offense at Rove Correctional Facility.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu appeals to people living in Western Province to be crime-free during this festive season.
PPC Lenialu says, “I want to remind the good and loving people of Western Province from Gatokae to the Shortland Islands to have a crime-free and safe festive season celebration 2022. My Christmas message to you all is always do the right thing and more importantly respect each other.”

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “I would like to put some information right for us that the victim of the case in this report is not dead as reported earlier. The victim is still at Helena Goldie Hospital and on medical treatment.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic
Department in Honiara are investigating a traffic incident involving a G-plated vehicle and a bus along the Vura road, opposite the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) School on 22 December 2022.
It is alleged that the G-plated vehicle was owned by the Ministry of Infrastructure Department and the driver was under the influence of alcohol as tested through the breathalyser.
