RSIPF farewells SIPDP advisor
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has farewelled Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) Advisor Andrew Mitchells with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.
The certificate of appreciation was presented in recognition of Advisor Mitchell commitment and contribution to capacity development within the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force during his service under SIPDP to the RSIPF from January 2018 to April 2020.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Mostyn Mangau presented the certificate of appreciation and a plaque witnessed by RSIPF senior executive members and members of the SIPDP executive.
“Advisor Andrew Mitchell is a ‘passionate officer’. During his time he provided advice to various departments of the RSIPF including Provincial Policing, National Emergency Management and Special Event Planning (NEMSEP), Learning and Development, and Leadership and Development,” says Acting Commissioner Mangau.
Speaking after being presented with the certificate and plaque, Advisor Mitchell said: “It is an honour to be presented with a certificate and plaque. I feel as though I should be thanking the RSIPF and Solomon Islands for letting me be part of their family for almost two and half years.”
“My wife and two kids thoroughly enjoyed their time living in Solomon Islands and they are all better people for it – and again for that I thank the RSIPF and people of Solomon Islands for letting them be part of the journey and welcoming them with open hearts and hands,” said Advisor Mitchell.
