RSIPF farewell six CPLT police officers
Deputy Commissioner (DC) CPLT Mr. Dong Jian gave his remarks during the farewell ceremony.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) held a farewell ceremony at Rove police headquarters on 13 May 2025 for six China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) members who deployed to the Solomon Islands (SI).
During the ceremony, supervising Commissioner Mr. Vaevaso said your sacrifices, dedication and commitment have wasted but have brought the RSIPF this far in terms of capacity and capability developments, which was very evident that we can enjoy the long-lasting peace and stability in these Solomon Islands (SI).
Supervising RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Vaevaso said the RSIPF has greatly benefitted from this cooperation and partnership we have established since 2021. When the first CPLT arrived in SI its proven. And we are going to enjoy it in the future as long as CPLT remains in SI.
RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Vaevaso said the support and assistance RSIPF has received from CPLT, the Ministry of Public Security, and the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Honiara is overwhelming.
Mr. Vaevaso said this assistance and the capacity and capability development trainings provided have closed up the many gaps we have in the RSIPF. This is incredible because you were just here for a short period of time, but you have made a very big and positive impact on the RSIPF.
The police chief said, "Thank you for this cooperation and relationship we have. RSIPF would like to acknowledge both the leaders of our countries for establishing this bilateral relationship we have had for the last five years, which drives the socioeconomic and development growth of SI and fosters a peaceful and safe security environment."
He said RSIPF will treasure all these good memories and our time together here, and we wish you all the best on your return home. Please convey our sincere acknowledgement and well wishes to your families and colleagues. We will always remember all good works and friendships we have here in SI.
CPLT Commissioner Mr. Liu Shenghuang, during the farewell ceremony, said, "Through the joint efforts and collaboration between CPLT and RSIPF, we have achieved fruitful outcomes and fostered profound friendship in the process."
Commissioner Liu said "Although six of our colleagues will be departing, our cooperation will not diminish—instead, it will reach new heights."
Speaking on behalf of the departing members, Deputy Commissioner (DC) CPLT Mr. Dong Jian said, "Looking back on the past six months, we are deeply grateful for the warmth and support of the SI people and our police counterparts."
DC Dong said, "During this time, we have worked diligently to advance our shared goals, achieving tangible results in some areas while recognizing further improvements needed. Every step of progress we have made embodies the collective effort and dedication of both sides.”
Mr. Dong said, "During our time in SI, we have worked side by side with our local partners to contribute to the development of this nation. In the future, the Chinese police will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the SI police, striving towards greater goals.
Deputy Commissioner Dong said, " The Chinese people will always stand united with the people of SI, working together to build a brighter tomorrow—this is not only China’s solemn commitment to our brothers and sisters in the Global South but also our unwavering responsibility.”
He said our affection for the SI will remain unchanged, and the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between us will endure. May we continue to walk forward together, writing new chapters of success.

• Technique trainings for the Police Response Department (PRD) and Emergency Response Group (ERG) of CSSI
• The ongoing coordination of the RSIPF training and seminar in China
• Coordination of RSIPF scholarship opportunities in China
• Supporting RSIPF during the recent Motion of No Confidence operations
• Recreational activities for RSIPF and its families
