Commander Solomon Islands (SI), Heath Davies, has been awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his exceptional service to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the 2025 Solomon Islands King’s birthday parade.

Since his deployment in mid-2020, Commander Davies has played a pivotal role in strengthening the capabilities of the RSIPF.

Under his leadership, the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) has delivered vital support across a range of areas, including frontline operations, training, infrastructure development, and community engagement.

These efforts continue to address current and future policing challenges in the SI and broader Pacific region.

His dedication to professional excellence and capacity building has left a lasting impact on the RSIPF, reinforcing the strong ties and friendship between the AFP and RSIPF, reflecting broader cooperation between Australia and the SI in promoting regional security and stability.

The awarding of the MBE recognizes Commander Davies’ commitment to supporting the RSIPF and contributing to the security and well-being of communities across the SI.

Five senior RSIPF officers were also recognized in the 2025 SI King’s birthday honours for their exceptional contributions to national security and community safety:

• RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau BEM was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for

his distinguished leadership and commitment to the RSIPF and national security.

• Deputy Commissioner Ian Vaevaso and Assistant Commissioner Simpson Pogeava were each awarded the MBE for their dedicated service.
• Director of the National Traffic Department (NTD) William Foufaka and Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo, received the King's Police Medal (KPM) for distinguished service.

This recognition highlights the strength of the longstanding policing partnership between the AFP and the RSIPF and reaffirms the AFP’s position as the RSIPF’s security partner of choice in supporting the SI’s long-term stability and policing capability.

A colourful parade has been mounted by the RSIPF and Correctional Services of SI as the highlight of the event, with a performance from the RSIPF police band and Australian Défense Force (ADF) Brass Band.
