RSIPF farewell late PC Maesilia during a send-off service at the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) in Honiara
RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau pays his final respects to the late PC Maesilia during the send-out service at SSEC Central Church in Honiara.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today, 31 July 2025, held a formal send-off service to honor the life and service of the late Senior Police Constable (PC) Paul Maesilia, who passed away on 17 July 2025.
The ceremony was held at the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) in Honiara, attended by colleagues, family members, relatives, and friends.
In a heartfelt address, RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau expressed deep sorrow at the loss and reflected on the late PC Maesilia's service and dedication.
“I am humbled to stand here and pay tribute to our late colleague.” Said Commissioner Mangau. “We are all deeply saddened by the passing of Senior PC Maesilia. Words fail to fully express the loss we feel.”
Commissioner Mangau said, “RSIPF salutes him and will continue to remember the legacy he has left behind for his positive contributions to the RSIPF to provide leadership in the field of policing in the country.”
Mr. Mangau states that the RSIPF deeply values the significant contributions made by the late PC Maesilia throughout his 34 years of commendable service. His commitment to public safety and national duty left a lasting impact on the RSIPF and the wider community. All ranks and divisions within the RSIPF recognize and honor his dedication to the people of the Solomon Islands, from the moment he joined the RSIPF to the time of his passing.
The police chief said it is sad to note that his untimely passing away is not only a loss to immediate family members, relatives, and communities of Kwaibala village in Malaita and elsewhere, but also a great loss to the RSIPF.
As the RSIPF mourns the passing of a colleague, we also pay tribute to the enduring contribution of the late PC Maesilia.
