The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) recently visited the Rove Three community in West Honiara and shared cooking skills with more than 30 local women and children.
The CPLT provided all the necessary cooking equipment and fresh ingredients for the session, which began with a dumpling-making activity led by a chef from a Chinese restaurant in the Solomon Islands.
The women in the community showed a strong interest in learning as they paid attention during the whole session until they got their chance to start making dumplings.
The representative of the community women said, "We sincerely thank you for organizing the cooking training; your sincere care for the women and children in the community is truly touching.
She said, “Thank you for such wonderful and practical cooking skills. In the future, dumplings will become a must-have delicacy for us on special days such as Father's Day and Children's Day. This delicacy will remind us of your care for the community and families."
This event is part of the CPLT’s ongoing efforts to support safer communities. It aims to promote health through practical life skills, improve public understanding of nutrition, and strengthen the friendship and cultural exchange between China and the Solomon Islands.
