Technology upgrade supports RSIPF’s special events planning

The National Emergency Management Special Events Planning (NEMSEP) of the Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) has received a timely boost ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) with two new laptops yesterday (5 September 2025).

The laptops gifted by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the RSIPF–AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The laptops will be used to prepare operational plans, manage information during deployments, and give NEMSEP staff greater mobility when supporting forward command posts in the provinces.

The upgrade will allow the team to respond more quickly and effectively to the demands of large-scale operations and emergencies.

RAPPP Superintendent Dave Williams said the donation was about giving officers the tools they need to succeed in their work space.

“Policing is about people, but people need the right tools. These laptops will help the NEMSEP team map out operations, stay connected when deployed, and adapt in real time as situations evolve. It’s practical support that makes a genuine difference,” said Superintendent Williams.
