Man found dead in his rented room: Police established enquiry file

Police have established an inquiry file into the death of a 50-year-old male person whose body was found in his rented room at Tandai Heights over the weekend.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said the body was found in his bathroom after he was last seen on 3 September 2025.

PPC Robo said White River police were alerted to this matter around Sunday (7 September 2025) midday, and they liaised with forensics to remove the body to the morgue.

“The deceased has been identified as the late Samson Buga from Ata’a in North Malaita,” said Chief Superintendent Robo.

Mr. Robo shares his condolences to the immediate family and relatives for the loss of their loved one and appeals to those who have any information to share with police.
