Most wanted man arrested at GRML site

Police have arrested a most wanted man at Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) in Central Guadalcanal on 11 September 2025.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) deployed at GRML have arrested the most wanted suspect near pit two while he was drinking beer with another person.

Police also have arrested the person who drank beer with the prime suspect for further questioning and possible charges of aiding a criminal.

The most wanted suspect, who is in and out of prison, is currently in police custody awaiting his remand at Rove Correctional Facility next week.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) of National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Simpson Pogeava said

the suspect has been escaping and hiding from police for quite a long time now.

AC Pogeava said he has been implicated in a few high-profile cases with Henderson, Naha, and Honiara City police. Investigators are working on his remand application.
