RSIPF and CPLT visit CCC and support DV survivors
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and China Liaison Team (CPLT) recently visited Christian Care Centre (CCC) in Central Guadalcanal.
The purpose of the visit is to provide support to the survivors of domestic violence (DV). The team delivered traditional Chinese food and essential supplies and extended care to the survivors residing at the CCC.
Christian Care Centre Program Manager of CCC, Ms. Florence Misitomu expressed her sincere appreciation for the visit and briefed the officers on the centre’s current operations and the situation of the women seeking refuge.
Operation Manager Misitomu noted that as the only institution in the Solomon Islands dedicated to providing shelter and support for women and children who have experienced family and gender-based violence, the centre assists hundreds of survivors each year and plays a vital role in safeguarding women’s rights and welfare.
Ms. Misitomu acknowledged the joint visit not only brought comfort to the survivors of DV but also demonstrated RSIPF’s strong commitment to community safety and the protection of vulnerable groups of people.
She expressed hope for continued cooperation with RSIPF and CPLT in future initiatives. Protecting the rights and safety of women and children is a key component of RSIPF’s community policing strategy.
RSIPF and CPLT will continue strengthening cooperation in safety awareness programs and community outreach, working together to build safer and more harmonious communities across the Solomon Islands.
