Police launch festive season operation
AC Pogeava thank officers after the float parade at Rove Police Headquarters
Police launched their festive operation with a float parade on 17 December 2025, with a huge number of police officers and police vehicles involved.
A float parade was conducted from Tanagai in west Honiara right through Honiara City, the capital, up to Talise, Borderline, down to Kukum roundabout, and to Corona Market in Central Guadalcanal and then returned to Rove Police Headquarters.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) of National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Simpson Pogeava said during the vehicle float parade, the National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD), with the support of the National Traffic Department (NTD), conducted awareness on safety messages.
AC Pogeava said key messages, including crime prevention tips, road safety reminders for drivers and pedestrians, and sea safety messages for those traveling by boat and ship during the holiday period, have been delivered during the float parade.
Mr. Pogeava said the aim of the awareness is to encourage our people to celebrate responsibly and reduce risks during the festive season as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He said your police will work all through the festive season to make sure our communities are free from disturbances. We work together to keep our communities safe.
Police acknowledge members of the public for their cooperation and support during the float parade and emphasize their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all communities throughout this festive season.
The Police brass band participated in the convoy to provide entertainment during the whole float parade, including Honiara City Police, Guadalcanal Police, Fire Services, Maritime, Police Headquarters staff, and the Police Response Department (PRD).
