RSIPF seize replica weapons from local Honiara school

Honiara:

A photograph of two young male persons holding weapons has been passed to RSIPF. This photograph caused serious concern to police regarding community safety. The information was referred to an active Task Force for investigation.

These weapons have been seized from the school by RSIPF and the school leadership and students advised to cease the practice of producing and maintaining such replica weapons. The school cooperated with police in this process and has assured RSIPF of continued cooperation.

The Commissioner of Police, RSIPF wants to reassure the people of Solomon Islands that police will pursue any reports of firearms possession whether real or fake in the community. This recent investigation highlights the efforts of police to resolve such allegations.
