RSIPF Women’s Advisory Network conduct two days conference

The RSIPF Women’s Advisory Network (WAN) today begun a two day conference in Rove Police Club.

Eighty (80) participants from within RSIPF ranks and files across Solomon Islands provinces are attending the conference which will coincide with the Women’s international Day on the 8th March 2017.

The theme for the two day conference ‘Enhancing Police Women’s Ability in Society’

Commissioner of Police, Matthew Varley said in his speech to open the conference, “I want to work with women in the RSIPF to make it a better organisation for you to work in and a better organisation for you to help serve the community.”

WAN Chair lady, Staff Sergeant Illeen Ukebule said, “We will expect some guest speakers from other Government Ministries, Non-Government Organisations and speakers from within the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.”

Mrs Ukebule said that topics will range from gender issues in the region, education and opportunity for women, healthy life style, good leadership and more”.
