Mangau urging good citizens to celebrate Easter meaningfully

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is urging good citizens of Solomon Islands to celebrate Easter in a meaningful way.

Police will be doing normal police presence in our communities and erecting checkpoints in some parts of Guadalcanal and Honiara City over the weekend.

Commissioner RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “This is to make sure people celebrate this Easter more meaningfully. If you are planning to catch up with friends and families this weekend, or travel to traditional holiday destinations, police are urging you to be vigilant during this Easter season.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “Police Officers will be visible in our communities and on the roads. Officers will deploy to different locations in Honiara City and some parts of Guadalcanal province. Please be reminded that when you behind the wheel do not drink and drive.”

Mr. Mangau says, “Driving under the influence of liquor will also put you and the passengers in danger. So be careful when you are behind the wheels.”

He says,

“Police will keep educating our people and comply with those road safety measures. Police will arrest and deal with those who breach the traffic regulations.”

Police appeal to good citizens of this country during this Easter break to be a good law abiding citizen and make this Easter a crime free period and allow this time for prayer and self-reflection.
