Drivers are urged to exercise caution on the roads, avoid flooded areas, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before traveling.

As a Christian nation, Easter is observed as an important time for prayer, reflection, and family gatherings. The RSIPF encourages everyone to uphold the true spirit of Easter by showing respect, patience, and kindness within families and communities and on the roads.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) confirms that a police officer was involved in a traffic incident at the ITA area in Honiara.

Police Commissioner (Acting) Mathias Lenialu said the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, with traffic and forensic officers attending the scene last night.

“The officer is currently at the Central Police Station and will undergo a Breathalyzer test as part of the investigation. This process will determine the appropriate course of action,” Commissioner Lenialu said.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Maritime Force confirms that its Commander, Superintendent Nevol Soko, is representing Solomon Islands at the Royal Australian Navy’s International Fleet Review (125th years anniversary) and the Exercise Kakadu 2026 Commanders’ Conference, held from 21–23 March 2026 in Sydney, Australia.

The engagements bring together maritime leaders from across the Indo-Pacific to strengthen cooperation, enhance maritime security, and promote the protection of critical shipping lanes, trade routes, and regional economic stability.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is proud to have two officers from its Media Unit traveling to and attending the Social Media Capability Development Forum in Suva, Fiji.

The forum, held from 30 March to 1 April 2026, is an initiative of the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC) in partnership with the Fiji Police Force (FPF).

It brings together media and communications officers from across the Pacific to strengthen digital engagement and strategic communication in policing.

The RSIPF, in partnership with the Solomon Islands Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), has strengthened its training capability through a specialized program delivered this year.

The three-day training brought together 25 RSIPF operational members and focused on building their skills to support the upcoming RSIPF Recruit Course, which is scheduled to begin later this year.

The RSIPF Police Response Department (PRD), together with members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) participating in Exercise Coastwatchers and the RSIPF–Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), visited Mbua Valley Community High School on Thursday, 19 March to engage with students and promote positive choices through sport.

More than 600 students took part in the visit, which focused on encouraging good decision making, teamwork, and active participation in the community.
