The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team will be conducting an unexploded ordnance (UXO) operation in the Western Province from Sunday 24 April to Friday 6 May 2022.

The tasks will be carried out at Munda, Noro and surrounding communities on New Georgia Island. Ringgi, Teme, Jack Harbour and surrounding communities on Kolombangara Island, Vonunu and the surrounding communities on Vella la Vella Island and Ranogga Island.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is appealing to Chief Kwairomi of East Fataleka to formally lodge his complaint with RSIPF Professional Standard & Internal Investigations Department (PSII) rather than using the media to create differences between our working relationships.

This is after he alleged that the Police Response Team (PRT) during a recent operation in East Fataleka to arrest Mr. Knoxy Atu, the PRT officer gun pointed at an innocent child.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF)-Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) includes support to the RSIPF’s Fire Rescue Service Division through the provision of an expert in emergency services- specialising in firefighting.

Inspector Gary Power from Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) brings with him 37 years of experience in firefighting, hazardous materials management and leadership.

In 2009, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) supported the establishment of the Solomon Islands Transnational Crime Unit (TCU) within the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) as part of its regional initiative to strengthen countries and Law Enforcements Agencies (LEA) in the region to fight against transnational and organised crimes in the pacific.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is urging good citizens of Solomon Islands to celebrate Easter in a meaningful way.

Police will be conducting high visibility police presence in our communities and erecting checkpoints in some parts of Guadalcanal and Honiara City over the Easter period. This is to make sure people are safe and complying with the COVID-19 measures.

If you are planning to catch up with friends and family this weekend, or travel to traditional holiday destinations, police are urging you to be vigilant during this Easter season.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Fire Services Department supported other government agencies to remove dangerous chemicals stored at the old Taiwanese farm, east of Honiara this week.

The RSIPF Fire Services Department has supported the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology-Environment Division and Honiara City Waste Management to remove the chemicals to a safer location.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is encouraging the media to report with a sense of responsibility when reporting on matters that will cause fear among our people.

This comes about when an article published on Solomon Star newspaper with the title ‘Plot to assassinate Sogavare’ today (9 April 2022) by Alfred Sasako.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Mostyn Mangau said the article is very dangerous and I appeal to the author to rethink before publishing such a story. The right place for this information to go to is RSIPF and not media.
