Police Maritime of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has strongly denied an article published by Solomon Star with the title ‘Patrol Boat Taro selling betel nut in Ontong Java’.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operation Evelyn Thugea says, “The allegation is not true and the Director Police Maritime who had led the operation has confirmed that the allegation is false.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police (RSIPF) has received riot equipment’s worth of SBD 12 million plus dollars from the People’s Republic of China during a handing over ceremony at Rove Police Headquarter today 24 February 2021.

During the Ceremony, RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn says, “That the riot equipment that was handed over this morning, and any future projects and assistance from your government would be used to its intended purposes.”

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Ministry of Police, National Security Correctional Services (MPNSCS) and the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Rove Police Headquarters today 24 February 2022.

Today marks another significant day for the twenty one (21) year friendship with the signing of a new MoU between the AFP, the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) and RSIPF in relation to the implementation of the RAPPP 2021-2025.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department are investigating a traffic accident, which involved a Police vehicle and a Toyota caldina car along Kukum Highway, in Honiara on 12 February 2022.

Supervising Director of the National Traffic Department Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “The Police vehicle was driven by a Police officer who was travelling easterly direction whilst the white Toyota Caldina car westerly direction.”

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr. Ian Vaevaso has expressed sincere gratitude to the timely and generous support from China Police for providing COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) kits.

The Chinese Police Liaison Team has handed over the 20,000 COVID-19 RAT to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at a handover ceremony at Honiara International airport on 18 February 2022.

On Friday 18 February 2022, all ten (10) Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officers successfully graduated from the Rifle User Training Program conducted in Australia by full-time Australian Federal Police Operational Safety Trainers.

All members demonstrated the necessary safety, weapon discipline, tactical and shooting skills to graduate from the program.

Commencing this week six Police Response Team (PRT) and two (2) Operational Safety Trainers will participate in a two week Rifle Instructor Training Program

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) will mount checkpoints in certain locations in Honiara to check public buses and taxis to ensure they are following health protocols when providing services to the public.

Commissioner of RSIPF Mr Mostyn Mangau says, “Police officers will check to ensure requirements orders are complied with, such as wearing facemasks in the public transport, not more than four people are in a taxi and two people per row in public buses.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested four male adult suspects in relation to a looting incident that happened in the early hours on 12 February 2022 in Chinatown.

Police Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “The incident happened early in the morning when a group of more 20 to 30 people came in and threatened the owner of the Chinese shop, enter and ransack the store.

Kingdom Harvest Ministry International (KHMI) has reconciled with Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) Contingent who were involved in an arrest of their zone pastor in relation to a Facebook post recently.

The reconciliation ceremony happened at Kingdom Harvest Church at Henderson on 9 February 2022 in the presence of Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) officers, parties involved in the matter and members of the KHMI congregation.
