The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are working together with the Western Provincial Liquor License Board to ban liquor in Shortland Islands.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, the Liquor ban came about when the Lofung ground breaking committee make a request to ban or selling of liquor in Shortland Islands recently.

PPC Lenialu says the ban of selling liquor will impose on the following dates: Monday 21st, Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd, and Thursday 24th June 2021.

David Soakai has received his letter of promotion from the Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Mr Mostyn Mangau to the rank of Superintendent today 18 June 2021 at Rove police headquarters.

Mr Soakai previously holds the rank of inspector position now promoted to Superintendent. Previously, he is the Officer In-Charge (OIC) Close Personal Protection (CPP) an arm unit under National Response Department.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 09 June 2021.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active as from 8am to 2pm (09 June 2021).”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) yesterday (3 June 2021) farewelled three Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) advisors in a ceremony held at Rove police headquarters.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau acknowledged and greatly appreciate the service rendered by SIPDP advisors during their time assisting RSIPF for the past years.

“On behalf of all ranks and files of the RSIPF I wish to acknowledge the contribution that you have made in different areas you serve within the RSIPF organisation during your time,” said Commissioner Mangau.

Provincial police officers have now been trained as Forensic officers after graduating from the Forensics course held in Rove, Honiara on 10 to 21 May 2021.

Officer in Charge (OIC) Forensic Unit of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Inspector (Insp) Laisalyn MUA says “Crimes committed in the provinces need to be examined by forensics officers to ensure the people of the Solomon Islands receive the best service from their police force.”

Bombs are design to kill and destroy are a strong message delivered during an awareness program conducted by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lengakiki Ministers Ridge on 29 May 2021.

Supervisor EOD, Senior Sergeant (SSgt) Ansa Puaraua said since it is design to kill and destroy, we encourage you not to attempt to remove or disturb any unexploded ordnance (UXOs) when discovered in your area.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force COVID-19 review team met with the Provincial Disaster Operation Committee (PDOC) in Taro, Choiseul Province on 25 May 2021.

The meeting is part of police review program with stakeholders that has been setup after the declaration of the State of Public Emergency in March 2020 to work together and fight against the coronavirus.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have arrested a man who has stabbed his girlfriend with a small knife at Niumanda village in Western Province on 23 May 2021.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “It will be alleged that the stabbing incident happen between 11am and 12pm on 23 May 2021. The suspect use a 30cm small knife, stabbed the girl, and sustained two wounds on her back neck and died instantly.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson police station in Guadalcanal Province are investigating two suspicious death incident of two male person at Uragai and Tina village in South Guadalcanal on different dates recently.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga says, “The first suspicious death incident has occurred on 13 May 2021 where the dead body of an adult male was found at the Tina River with wounds on his body. The body was later buried by his relatives.”
