Fire Services of RSIPF conduct safety awareness to seven-day Adventist children in Honiara

The Fire and Rescue Service of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) under its Prevention Program had conducted a Fire Safety Awareness talk to a group of children from seventh day Adventist Church on 15 August 2021.

Director Fire and Rescue Service, Superintendent Stephen Dekyi says, “The program was presented by Sergeant (Sgt) Mark Arimana and on duty officers from Echo shift. The awareness talk was presented to children ages from 3 to 12-years-old with their teachers and their parents.

Police investigate two suspicious death in Honiara

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating two suspicious deaths in Honiara.

The two-death incidents had occurred in different locations. One at Rock Haven and the other at Pacific Casino Hotel.

Deputy Commissioner National Security and Operation Support Mr Ian Vaevaso says, “The first death incident happened over the weekend and the other occurred on 17 August 2021.

Police arrest three male suspects for raping a 14-year-old female in Western Province

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station in the Western Province have arrested three male suspects for raping a 14-year-old female on 11 August 2021.

Deputy Commissioner National Security and Operation Support Mr Ian Vaevaso says, “It is alleged that the three male suspects had sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old female without her consent in three separate occasions in a village at Simbo Island from 13 to 16 July 2021.”

RSIPF clarifies involvement in politics

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) would like to clarify to General Public that police are not politically influenced by politicians to give orders and instructions for their own interests.

This came after a criticism by some individuals on social media that police are taking orders from politicians.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Superintendent Edwin Sevoa says, “RSIPF organization is an independent body and has nothing to do with politics.”

RSIPF warns public after sighting crocodile in North West Guadalcanal

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) would like to warn the public; especially those beach goers to be careful after a crocodile was sighted at the Hammock beach at Kakabona in the North West Guadalcanal on 15 August 2021.

Police would like to remind those who would like to spend time out with families swimming at the beaches to be very careful after some beach goers saw a crocodile floating from Hammock towards Lela beach.

Petition receive, police reminds public to refrain from any plan protest in Honiara

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have received a copy of the petition handed over to the Prime Minister's Office and strongly reminds those who intended to stage a protest to overthrow the Government to refrain from it.

Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The planned protest was illegal under the Procession Act and the current State of Public Emergency Regulation. Your police will not tolerate such illegal activities that threaten Public Safety and National Security.

Aola community impress with new police station

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) now has a new Police Station after the old police post was burned down in 2020 due to electrical fault.

The new Police Station is located in the north east of Guadalcanal Province funded by the Solomon Islands Development program (SIPDP).

RSIPF warns people of Illegal crossing at the SI-PNG border

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) strongly appeals to our people in the common border region from the Shortland Islands and Choiseul to refrain from illegal crossing at the border between the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea (SI-PNG) during the State of Public Emergency.

The call has been made after police at the border and other Agencies attended to a report of Illegal crossing from Bougainville to our side of the border by our Nationals who were been stranded in Bougainville after the SI-PNG border closed from these global crises COVID-19 on 14 August 2021.

RSIPF receives funded project from Australian High Commission

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Lata Police Station in Temotu Province have received equipment from the Australian High Commission on 10 August 2021.

The Australian High Commissioner has presented the Lata police with a water tank and a stand-by generator to enhance a conducive working environment in terms of policing service in Temotu Province.

RSIPF farewells SIPDP advisors

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) yesterday (12 August 2021) farewelled Solomon Islands Police Development Program (SIPDP) Advisors Julie Mitchell and Michael Young after serving years with the Program.

RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau acknowledged and greatly appreciated the service rendered by SIPDP Advisors during their years in Solomon Islands.

“I wish to acknowledge the contribution that both of you have made to the Executive of the RSIPF and the other departments you have been attached to during your time as SIPDP advisors,” said Commissioner Mangau.
