Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara today farewelled their colleague officer the late Sergeant (Sgt) Patteson Pitatogae during a funeral service at Wesley United Church in Honiara on 29 July 2021.
Presenting the late Pitatogae eulogy during the funeral service, RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “I am humbled to stand here on behalf of the Commissioner of Police and all ranks and files of the RSIPF throughout Solomon Islands.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata Police Station in Temotu Province have arrested a 30-year-old male for stabbing his 22-year-old younger brother with a pocketknife on 25 July 2021.
It was alleged that due to minor family issues the older brother stabbed the younger brother with a pocketknife multiple times on the victim’s body.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) removed a 120mm Japanese projectile bomb at Bulogaly village, Ata’a district in North Malaita on 24 July 2021.
Officer-in-charge (OIC) EOD Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “EOD have responded to the report dispatched by the police communication centre from a complainant. A team consists of five EOD experts dispatched to the area and safely remove the Japanese bomb.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station have arrested and charged a 46-year-old male suspect for threatening violence in Honiara on 16 June 2021.
It was alleged that the defendant was drunk when he entered a private residence in the Mbumburu area. The victim attended to him and the defendant verbally warned the victim, stating that he would return and kill him. He further stated to the victim to inform his father to be watchful and stated that he would return and remove his father from their house and burn down their dwelling house.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station in Choiseul Province have arrested five male suspects ages between 18 and 28 year-old for malicious damage at Legavana logging company on 8 July 2021.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have arrested four suspects for willful and unlawful damage to properties at Vunuha village in small Ngella on 17 July 2021.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai says, “Initial report stated that the incident has occurred in relation to a land issue, in which two parties claimed ownership of it.”
