Auki police have arrested a 50-year-old male suspect for allegedly raping an 18-year-old student who attended year 12 at a school near Auki town.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea, said the suspect in relation to the rape incident is a teacher by profession.

PPC Ramosaea said, “It was alleged that early in the morning on the 3 October 2025, the suspect went into the victim’s room, threatened the victim by force, and raped her.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) has farewelled Dr. Danielle Watson after successful completion of RSIPF Strategic Directions 2026–2036 at Rove police headquarters during a short ceremony on 15 October 2025.

During the farewell ceremony, RSIPF presented a certificate of appreciation and police medal to Dr. Watson in recognition of her engagement as a consultant.

China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) recently conducted Artificial Intelligence (AI) anti-fraud training for more than 20 officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Central police station.

The session aimed at enhancing the RSIPF capacity to detect and combat telecommunications fraud involving AI technologies.

During the session, CPLT officer Superintendent Zhang Yukun introduced the global background of cross-border telecom fraud and analysed the Solomon Islands' current network environment.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Kirakira, Makira-Ulawa Province, recently have trained more than 70 pastors and elders of the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) around the island on how to identify and deal with trauma.

The training is part of the continued rollout of the RSIPF Crime Prevention Strategy (CPS) in the province.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the RSIPF & Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) hosted a community engagement program with the Motor Pool community recently at Henderson, drawing a large number of residents.

The initiative, part of RSIPF and RAPPP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community policing, provided residents with the opportunity to interact directly with officers, ask questions, and learn more about the role of RSIPF and RAPPP in maintaining peace and security.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) held a parade at Rove Police Headquarters to celebrate a strong partnership between the law agencies recently.

The event, which was attended by the Hon. Prime Minister (PM) Jeremiah Manele, celebrated a strong partnership with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The strong partnership is also part of the teamwork that contributed to the safe and successful hosting of the recent Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), supported by the RSIPF and Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), recently conducted a series of school and community awareness programs in Munda and Noro, Western Province.

The visit aimed to acknowledge and thank local communities for their support during the recent Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Retreat held in Noro and to strengthen community-police relationships through engagement and education.

Maka police have arrested a 47-year-old male suspect for assaulting a 32-year-old female victim with a bush knife at Aiarai village in west Areꞌare lagoon on 12 October 2025.

It was alleged that on 5 October 2025, the suspect struck the victim on her left arm with a bush knife, and she sustained injury.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea said the victim of the wounding incident attended medical for medication, and her condition is stable.

Maka Police have arrested a 30-year-old male person for damaging two Yamaha outboard motor (OBM) engines at Masupa village in East Are’are recently.

The damage incident occurred on 8 October, when the suspect allegedly entered a shed that housed the two engines, and he used an axe and smashed the two engines.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Romosaea, said the owner of the shed was in Honiara when the incident occurred, and he reported the matter to Maka police.

Auki Police have arrested a 36-year-old male suspect for burning down a permanent house at Faubulu village in east Kwara’ae, Malaita province.

Police arrested the suspect on 10 October 2025 after he escaped to a village in central Kwara’ae. The burning incident also happened on the same date as the arrest made.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea, said the suspect, as informed by the community, had a very aggressive and uncaring attitude towards others in his community.
