The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Professional Standards Internal Investigation (PSII) is continuing with an investigation into more than $300,000.00 exhibit money that has gone missing from the RSIPF Exhibit Room at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

Police recovered the money during its investigation into the One-Link Pacifica scheme that has been going on since April 2020.

It was discovered that the exhibit money had gone missing in the month of October 2020.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force at the Sexual Assault Unit at the Rove Police Headquarters have arrested and charged a 48-year-old male person for Indecent Assault and Sexual Intercourse girl under 18-years on 29 January 2021.

An initial report say the 15-year-old victim in the incident is the niece of the defendant’s wife living next to the defendant and his family at April Valley in East Honiara.

It is alleged that between January to December 2020, the defendant had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) calls on members of the public at Noro and surrounding communities to help identify the dead body of an adult male person discovered floating at sea in the Kokosu area of Noro Township this morning (2 February 2021).

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) re-emphasises to the public the need to think safety first as parts of the country experience the effects of tropical cyclone (TC) Lucas.

TC Lucas is moving east at 20 knots towards the southern waters of Rennell and Bellona Province, southern waters of Western, Russell Islands, Guadalcanal and Makira Provinces and is strengthening. The country continues to experience heavy rain and strong winds due to Lucas.
