More than 60 members from seven communities in East Honiara now have a better understanding of the work of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) to assist them in tackling crime within their communities following a training workshop held recently in Honiara.
The RSIPF National Crime Prevention Department organised the training for community members of Feraladoa, Jericho one, Jericho two, Gegema, Three 7, Fulisango and Mud land in East Honiara.
Members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Executive will benefit from eight laptops funded by the Australian Government through the Solomon Island Police Development Program (SIPDP) to assist in the COVID-19 operation.
Commander of SIPDP Mark Ney handed over the laptops to the Commissioner of Police, Mostyn Mangau during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara today (28 October 2020).

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Naha Police Station have arrested a 21-year-old boy for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old male person at the Borderline bus stop in East Honiara on 23 October 2020.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi in Central Province have arrested two suspects for an alleged attempted rape incident and a separate alleged incident of domestic violence on Savo Island on 20 October 2020.
The suspects were escorted to Tulagi Police Station from Monago and Bonala villages on Savo Island.
The Royal Solomon islands Police Force (RSIPF) has increased the number of its officers on static security at COVID-19 Quarantine Stations, as the Government increases its number of Stations to accommodate the repatriated citizens and foreign nationals.
The number of officers on static security duties has been increased from 15 to 25.
The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) warns against outboard motors (OBMs) going out to foreign vessels while anchored at sea in the Port Cruz Harbour area.
RSIPF Maritime Division, Commander Chief Superintendent, Charles Fox says, “The Maritime Division is assisting the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources as part of the COVID 19 ongoing operation, to make sure OBMs do not visit the foreign vessels anchored in the Point Cruz harbour in an operation which begun on 21 October 2020.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Henderson Police Station are investigating the burning down of the Aola Police Post in East Guadalcanal on 17 October 2020.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga says, “According to an initial report by a team of officers from Henderson and Tetere Police stations who travelled to Aola to investigate the incident, the fire could have been caused by a solar power battery and inverter inside the building. But investigations will continue to confirm this or otherwise.”
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) women’s football team, the Royals, played out an exciting 0-0 draw against Koloale FC at Lawson Tama stadium on Saturday 19 October 2020.
It was the first time this season a women’s league game has been played at the “home of football”. Both teams stepped up to the occasion to play out a thrilling game to the delight of the supporters who turned out to support the women’s league.
The draw means the Royals remain undefeated and in first place with a 3 point lead.
