The Noro police operation team conducted a high-visibility route march as part of the community engagement and to ensure safety in the township in preparation for the Pacific Island Forum Leaders (PIFL) retreat in Noro.
Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said, “This initiative comes as part of the preparations for the upcoming PIFL retreat, which will take place this week.”

Noro police operation team conducted a high-visibility foot beat patrol in Noro township in preparation for the upcoming arrival of the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum (PIFL) high-level delegation for a day retreat in Noro this week.
Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said, “This initiative comes as part of the preparations for the upcoming PIFL retreat, which will take place this week.”

Police have established an inquiry file into the death of a 50-year-old male person whose body was found in his rented room at Tandai Heights over the weekend.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said the body was found in his bathroom after he was last seen on 3 September 2025.

PPC Robo said White River police were alerted to this matter around Sunday (7 September 2025) midday, and they liaised with forensics to remove the body to the morgue.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Vessel (RSIPV) Patrol Boat (PB) 05 Gizo is in Noro, Western Province, to support the Pacific Island Forum Leaders (PIFL) police operation for the retreat in Noro next week.

The RSIPV will provide security support in the Western waters and collaborate with other speed crafts assigned to the operation ahead of the arrival of the high-level delegation for the retreat.

Police in Western Province, with the support from Honiara and Taro police, are engaging in awareness talks in Noro township as part of the security preparation for the Pacific Island Forum Leaders (PILF) retreat in Noro next week.

Today (7 September 2025), police have conducted an awareness talk at a Noro South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) and Christian Fellowship Church (CFC) in Noro.

The awareness program started a few days ago to inform local residents and the good people in Noro and Munda townships.

An equally fought first soccer match in the Master League Soccer Competition (MLSC) at Burns Creek field recently saw the Green Berets (GB) and Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Oldies share a point each at the full-time whistle.

Both teams for the first time met in what was described as a spectacular display of enthusiasm and a bombarded encounter with more chances created by RSIPF Oldies to see the back of the net but was denied by the GB goalkeeper.

GB managed to hold on tight to more pressured runs from RSIPF oldies until the final whistle.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Noro have arrested 18 suspects during an operation mounted on Friday night.

Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said the suspects had been arrested during foot beat patrol and mobile patrol in Noro and Munda.

Commander Lenialu said areas were covered during the operation on Friday night at Noro and Munda Road. A total of 17 suspects were arrested from Munda alone, while in Noro there was only one suspect.

The National Emergency Management Special Events Planning (NEMSEP) of the Royal Solomon Police Force (RSIPF) has received a timely boost ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) with two new laptops yesterday (5 September 2025).

The laptops gifted by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) through the RSIPF–AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

The laptops will be used to prepare operational plans, manage information during deployments, and give NEMSEP staff greater mobility when supporting forward command posts in the provinces.

Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said police continue to boost their high visibility, cleanup campaign, and zero tolerance in Noro and Munda with the support from officers in Honiara and Taro.

The Honiara Central Magistrates' Court has conducted a court circuit at Buala recently, sentencing a 36-year-old male to ten months for an indecent act that occurred last year.

Buala police charged the defendant with an incident act contrary to section 138 (1) (d) of the penal code [chap 26], as amended by the Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Act 2016.

The defendant has started serving his 10-month sentence at Rove Correctional Centre after he pleaded guilty before the magistrate.
