Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested a 30-year-old man for alleged attempted murder following an incident that occurred in the Kwaibaita area in East Kwaio, Malaita Province in 2019
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Inspector Charles Eddie Koto says, “The suspect was arrested in 2019 after the incident but he escaped from police during the investigation into the matter.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force at the Naha Police Station have arrested three youth suspects following an alleged attempted murder incident in the Gilbert Camp area in East Honiara in the early hours of 27 January 2020.
Initial reports say that prior to the incident, the victim left his house and walked down to the Solomon Water area at Gilbert Camp where a drill was located with intension to check the area since stealing is common within the area.
The dead body of a male person has been discovered at the mouth of the Lungga River east of Honiara this morning (4 February 2020).
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Chief Superintendent Ishmael Vunagi says, “At about 8:30 am this morning police attended the report of a dead body that was found at the Lungga river mouth.”
“The already decomposed body is that of a male person. Police have taken the body to the morgue at the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara for a post-mortem.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Auki Police Station are appealing to the general public and business houses in and around Auki town to call in at the police station if any of their property has been stolen or missing.
The appeal is being made after police arrested a suspect on 2 February 2020 and recovered some properties worth thousands of dollars.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the Naha Police Station in Honiara are investigating the death of an adult male person at about 9 am on 30 January 2020 in a bottle shop in the Kukum area of East Honiara.
Officers attended to the scene after receiving calls from members of the public that the body of an adult male person was seen hanging in the bottle shop when a security guard entered the premises. The deceased was a security guard working at the bottle shop.

Work is now underway to extend berthing space for patrol boats of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) Maritime Aola Base in Honiara with the construction of a dolphin wharf funded by the International Division of the Australian Defence Force as part of the Defence Cooperation Program (DCP).
The overseas company, McConnell Dowell is constructing the dolphin wharf with assistance from some local companies.
